ADC Denies Leadership Change Claim
The African Democratic Congress has dismissed reports of a leadership change, describing them as false and misleading. The party’s spokesman, Bolaji Abdullahi, said the claims circulating online should be ignored.
The reaction followed reports that David Mark had stepped aside as national chairman amid the party’s internal crisis. The same reports also suggested that former chairman Ralph Nwosu would take over leadership.
Abdullahi said, “Please note that reports circulating about a change in the leadership of the ADC are #FakeNews.
“Please disregard, flag, and report such content on any social media platform where you encounter it,” he wrote.
The controversy comes after the Independent National Electoral Commission removed the party’s leadership details from its portal following a court ruling.
The electoral body said it would maintain the existing situation until the case is resolved.
Despite the ongoing dispute, the faction led by Mark has rejected the move and plans to continue preparations for its national convention in Abuja.
