Amid the worsening crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party, former Vice President and PDP’s 2023 presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has declared that the African Democratic Congress is the only viable alternative capable of rescuing Nigerians from the hardship they continue to face under the All Progressives Congress-led government.
Speaking in Jalingo during the official opening of the ADC state secretariat, Atiku said the party is well-positioned to secure a decisive victory in the 2027 general elections. He urged Nigerians to join the movement so they can be counted among those committed to rebuilding the nation.
He also appealed to eligible voters, particularly those in Taraba State, to register and obtain their voter cards ahead of the polls.
Atiku warned that any attempt or desire to change the government in 2027 would be impossible without citizens having the means to exercise their voting rights.
He criticised the current APC administration, stating that it has done little or nothing to improve the lives of Nigerians.
Atiku further expressed confidence in the leadership of the ADC, insisting that its leaders are capable and will perform better if given the mandate at both the national and state levels in 2027.
Taraba State ADC Chairman, Hassan Adamu, also assured attendees that the party has become a popular choice among residents and will present a strong alternative in the coming elections.
The event featured the inauguration of the ADC state transition committee, chaired by Senator Abubakar Tutare, with Barrister Haruna Kwetishe appointed as secretary.
