Akpabio, Bamidele Leads APC Campaign Council
The All Progressives Congress has concluded plans to inaugurate its National Campaign Council for the upcoming Ekiti State governorship election, with Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani appointed to lead the campaign structure.
The inauguration is scheduled to take place on Wednesday in Abuja as preparations for the poll gather momentum.
The council will oversee the party’s mobilisation and election strategy ahead of the governorship election fixed for June 20, 2026, by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Senate President Godswill Akpabio will serve as co-chairman, while Senate Leader Michael Opeyemi Bamidele will act as secretary of the campaign body.
According to the party, the council is made up of serving and former governors, senior National Assembly members and other key APC figures.
Its responsibility will be to coordinate campaign activities across the state and strengthen the party’s chances at the election.
To support its operations, the APC has also established specialised committees covering finance, media, security, logistics, grassroots mobilisation, youth and women engagement, protocol and election planning.
The party said the structure is aimed at ensuring an organised and effective campaign across Ekiti State.
