Phyna, winner of BBNaija Level Up season, has laid her younger sister, Ruth Otabor, to rest following a fatal road accident.
Ruth, 24, was struck by a Dangote Group truck near Auchi Polytechnic, Edo State, on August 13, 2025 — just six days after her graduation. She sustained critical injuries, including the amputation of one leg, damage to the other, and head and hand injuries.
She passed away on August 31 at about 6:30 a.m. from complications related to the accident.
Her burial was held in Ikorodu, Ogun State, and attended by friends and former BBNaija housemates, including Christy O and Groovy.
Ruth’s death has fueled public outrage, with many demanding justice and stronger corporate accountability for road safety. Phyna was visibly emotional as she was comforted by friends and fellow ex-housemates during the ceremony.
