Nigerian music sensation Asake paid a memorable visit to Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) after returning from Los Angeles, reconnecting with the place that nurtured his creative talents.

Accompanied by his mother, he was warmly welcomed by his former Head of Department and several lecturers, who celebrated his achievements in the music industry.

Asake treated students and attendees to a drumming performance, recalling his days as a Theatre and Drama student, when showcasing musical talent was part of his academic life.

He concluded the visit with a traditional dobale prostration, a respected act of humility and reverence performed by alumni to honour the university and its elders.

The visit highlighted Asake’s journey from student to star, serving as an inspiration to current students and reinforcing the lasting bond between the artist and his alma mater.
