Afrobeats star Davido has revealed plans to officially pitch his political tent with the Accord Party, following the recent move by his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.
The music star disclosed this on Tuesday through his verified X account, announcing that he would travel to Osogbo to complete his registration as a party member. According to him, the visit would include collecting his Accord Party membership card at the Osun State Government House.
“I Will be live in Osun to pick up my @AccordPartyNG membership card @ IMOLE HOUSE OSOGBO Tomorrow… see you soon ACCORDINGLY 😇 Cc @AAdeleke_01.”
Davido’s declaration comes shortly after Governor Adeleke adopted the Accord Party as his new political base ahead of the 2026 governorship race in Osun State.
On December 9, 2025, Adeleke publicly announced his exit from the Peoples Democratic Party during a gathering at the Government House banquet hall in Osogbo, attended by key figures from the Accord Party at both national and state levels.
At the time, the governor explained that unresolved leadership challenges within the PDP at the national level influenced his decision. He noted that after engaging stakeholders and opinion leaders, he formally joined the Accord Party on November 6 to strengthen his chances for re-election.
Davido had earlier acknowledged his uncle’s defection by sharing the announcement online, simply adding the caption “Jeje…”.
