The Ghana Police Service has officially confirmed the arrest of Evans Eshun, widely known as Prophet Ebo Noah, by the Inspector General of Police’s Special Cyber Vetting Team.

The confirmation was made in a statement published on the police’s official website on Wednesday. According to the police, the arrest forms part of ongoing measures to monitor and curb cyber-related activities, particularly as the country approaches 31st night religious programmes.

The police announcement followed intense online discussions linking the arrest to recent security warnings against individuals making public prophecies or declarations capable of causing fear, panic or public unrest.

Despite the speculation, the police did not disclose the specific allegations against Eshun or provide details of the conduct currently under investigation.

“The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the arrest of a man identified as Evans Eshun, also known as Ebo Noah, by the Inspector General of Police’s Special Cyber Vetting Team.

“The arrest was carried out as part of ongoing police efforts to monitor and address cyber related activities, particularly in the period leading up to 31st night religious services.

“Police confirmation follows reports circulating online suggesting the arrest was linked to warnings issued by security agencies regarding the conduct of individuals making public declarations and prophecies that could cause fear or public disorder. At this stage, police have not publicly detailed the specific allegations against the suspect or the nature of the conduct under investigation.”

Meanwhile, in a video released last Thursday, Ebo Noah claimed that a disaster he had earlier prophesied did not happen after he received a fresh revelation. He said the new message came after intense prayers, fasting and consultations with other religious leaders.

According to him, the revelation showed that the number of people seeking refuge in the ark from different parts of the world was far beyond its capacity. He added that he appealed for divine intervention and was granted additional time to build more arks to accommodate everyone.
