Chelsea has named Liam Rosenior as its new head coach, signing him to a contract that runs until 2032, the Premier League club announced on Tuesday.

Rosenior, who led Racing Strasbourg to European qualification in his first season in charge, takes over from Enzo Maresca, who departed the club on New Year’s Day.

“I am extremely humbled and honoured to be appointed Head Coach of Chelsea Football Club. This is a club with a unique spirit and a proud history of winning trophies,” Rosenior said.

He added, “My job is to protect that identity and build a team that reflects these values in every game we play as we continue winning trophies. To be entrusted with this role means the world to me, and I want to thank all involved for the opportunity and faith. I will give everything to bring the success this club deserves.

“I believe deeply in teamwork, unity, togetherness and working for one another, and those values will be at the heart of everything we do. They will be the foundation of our success.”

Liam Rosenior, son of former player and coach Leroy Rosenior, enjoyed a 16-year playing career in the Premier League as a full back for Fulham, Reading, Hull, and Brighton, and represented England at Under-21 level. He began his managerial career at Hull in 2022 before joining Strasbourg two years later.
