Super Eagles forward Akor Adams has been granted permission to leave the team camp to be with his hospitalized mother.
The 25-year-old dedicated his goal in last night’s match to his mother, who had planned to be in Morocco to support him.
“First, glory to God for the privilege to score my AFCON goal like all of you have been waiting for, but this one is for my mom,” the former Sogndal striker told Soccernet.ng. “She was supposed to be here, but she was admitted to the hospital this morning. Thankfully, she’s feeling much better now.”
Adams will be away from the camp to be with his mother but is expected to return in time for Nigeria’s quarter-final match on Saturday.
