Nigeria’s Super Eagles have made a huge leap in the latest FIFA World Rankings, climbing 12 spots to 26th place after previously being ranked 38th.
The rise follows their impressive showing at the 2025 AFCON in Morocco, where the team claimed third place.
On the African continent, Nigeria is now the third-best team, behind AFCON champions Senegal, who are 12th in the world, and Morocco, ranked eighth. Algeria and Egypt complete the continent’s top five.
Globally, the world’s top 10 teams remain Spain, Argentina, France, England, Brazil, Portugal, Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and Croatia.
