The Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) has suspended its nationwide strike against the Dangote Group.
The union had launched the industrial action on Monday to protest the company’s refusal to allow its employees to join NUPENG.
The strike was called off after an agreement was reached at a meeting convened by the Department of State Services (DSS). The meeting had in attendance the Ministers of Labour and Finance, officials of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), and a Dangote management team led by Seyu Dantata.
Details of the agreement have not yet been made public.
