The Super Eagles of Nigeria were held to a draw by South Africa in their World Cup qualifier at the Free State Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein.
An own goal from William Troost-Ekong put the hosts ahead in the 25th minute, but Nigeria hit back just before halftime when Calvin Bassey headed in the equaliser from a set-piece in the 44th minute.
Both teams created several chances in a lively second half, but neither could find a winner.
The result leaves Nigeria under pressure in Group C of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, with only two games remaining to secure automatic qualification. South Africa, meanwhile, stays top of the group and edges closer to their first World Cup appearance since 2010.
