Nigerians have taken to social media to slam controversial singer Portable after he declared that he would sell his vote in the upcoming 2027 election.

The drama started when Portable asked his fans if they had collected their voter’s cards before openly stating that he would support whichever candidate pays him.

"Anybody wey give me money na who I go follow. Anybody wey fit help our life," he said.

He continued in Yoruba: "If APC brings money first, APC owns me. If PDP brings money first, I will collect. Even if it’s Peter Obi that pays first, I’ll tell my fans to follow him; to vote for him."

Portable argued that he cannot support any politician while struggling to feed.

"Vote for anybody wey you like, vote for your helper, vote for who give you money," he concluded.

His comments have sparked backlash online, with many Nigerians reminding him that, as a public figure, he should set a better example.
