Ngozi Ogbu, a former lawmaker who represented Okigwe Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, has regained his freedom, the Imo State Police Command confirmed on Thursday.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Henry Okoye, stated, “He was released yesterday night and the Command is working in synergy with other security agencies to make sure his abductors are apprehended and brought to book.”
Ogbu was kidnapped last week by unknown gunmen. While the police assured the public of their continued commitment to security, the circumstances surrounding his release remain unclear, including whether a ransom was paid.
The Police Command reiterated its dedication to maintaining peace and ensuring the safety of all residents in Imo State.
