The Kano State Police Command has announced the arrest of two key suspects connected to the attack on Nigerian singer Ololade Keshinro, widely known as Lil Kesh.
The suspects, Mathew Adewole and Mukhtar Muhammad, allegedly tried to kill the artist in August by inflicting deep cuts on his neck during an attack at his Lagos residence.
Following the incident, Lil Kesh took to X to reassure his fans, writing, “Life threw me a curveball, but I’m safe, healing, and blessed to be here. I’m grateful for the love, support, and prayers.”
The assault came just weeks before the kidnapping of popular TikToker Habeeb Hamzat, known as Peller, who was later freed.
In an update shared on Saturday, the Kano State Police Command said the suspects were arrested in Na’ibawa Quarters, Kano, and that N2.12 million was recovered from them.
“Kano State Police Command nabs two suspects in Na’ibawa Quarters, Kano, Mathew Adewole and Mukhtar Muhammad, in connection with armed robbery and attempted murder of Lil-Kesh at Bera Estate, Chevron, Lagos. Stolen N2.12m recovered and suspects handed over to Lagos Police for prosecution, #Justice Served,” the police stated.
Lil Kesh, a former YBNL signee who rose to prominence with the 2015 hit song “Shoki,” launched his record label Young And Getting It (YAGI) in 2016 and has since released multiple tracks, including “Vex For You” featuring Ayo Maff and Fireboy DML, as well as his 2025 album “Forever Getting It (FGI).”
