Celebrity barman Cubana Chief Priest has slammed Nigeria’s healthcare system, describing it as a “joke.”

In a social media post, he recounted his recent experience at a hospital in Ikoyi, where he waited for over an hour after his vitals were checked, only to discover that no doctor was available. Out of respect for the facility, he did not disclose its name but expressed his disappointment over the lack of prompt medical care.

He later visited another hospital in Lekki, where he was required to complete an extensive online form before seeing a doctor. Frustrated by the delays, he ultimately purchased medications for typhoid and malaria on his own.

“Honestly health care is a joke in this country. Walked into a hospital I have been using in this Ikoyi for years sick. After vitals it’s over an hour plus & no doctor is available. I no wan post the hospital because I understand what business is all about. I went to another one in Lekki and I have to fill a long form online to see a doctor. Well I don go med plus go buy medication for typhoid and malaria. If I reach UK make I do proper health care there. It’s a shame sha, na God dey save person for this country,” he wrote.

Cubana Chief Priest’s post sheds light on the persistent challenges faced by Nigerians in accessing efficient and reliable healthcare.
