Fulham FC commemorated Nigeria’s 65th Independence Day with a lively celebration at their training ground in London. The Premier League club shared a video on their official X account on Wednesday evening, showcasing players and staff joining in music, dancing, and cultural displays.

The event featured green and white decorations inspired by the Nigerian flag, cupcakes adorned with miniature flags, and participants dressed in Nigerian-themed attire, reflecting a strong sense of unity and cultural pride. The soundtrack included P-Square’s Beautiful Onyinye, Tekno’s Pana, and Fido’s Joy Is Coming, while DJ Semss energized the gathering with a mix of afrobeats and highlife.

Nigeria’s stars at Fulham—Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey, and Samuel Chukwueze—were at the heart of the festivities, joined by teammates like Mali international Adama Traore. Players and staff danced together, blending the club’s professional spirit with a celebration of Nigerian heritage.

The celebration highlighted the significance of Independence Day for diaspora communities in London and beyond, marking 65 years since Nigeria gained independence from Britain in 1960.
