A tense moment played out on Arise Television’s The Morning Show on Tuesday when Minister of Works David Umahi engaged in a heated exchange with one of the programme’s anchors, Rufai Oseni.
The disagreement began after Oseni questioned Umahi about the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road project and accused him of reporting him to President Bola Tinubu over his previous criticisms of the project.
Visibly irritated, Umahi fired back, saying, “You are too small for me to report to the President. Stop saying I reported you to the President, you’re too small.”
The confrontation escalated further when Umahi declared himself “a professor in the field of engineering,” a claim that drew skepticism from Oseni, who asked when the minister attained the title. Umahi replied sharply, “Keep quiet and stop saying what you don’t know. I’m a professor in this field. You don’t understand anything.”
He went on to clarify that his professorship was not academic but based on years of practical experience, adding, “You have no knowledge of what you’re asking.”
Oseni, maintaining his composure, responded, “Minister, it’s alright. Keep dignifying yourself and let the world know who you truly are.”
