The Department of State Services (DSS) has announced the arrest of two dismissed officers, Barry Donald and Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, who were accused of impersonating personnel of the agency to defraud unsuspecting citizens.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the DSS confirmed that the duo had previously been declared wanted after the Service publicly warned that they were no longer in its employment but continued to parade themselves as active operatives.
“The public is hereby notified that these culprits have been apprehended and will face prosecution in accordance with the law,” the statement read.
The agency said it has also resolved to publish the names of other previously dismissed staff members to prevent further cases of impersonation and to safeguard the public from fraudsters exploiting the DSS identity.
Reaffirming its commitment to professionalism, transparency, and accountability, the DSS urged Nigerians to remain vigilant and promptly report suspicious individuals or activities.
Members of the public seeking clarification or verification were advised to contact the Service through 09088373515 or via email at dsspr@dss.gov.ng.
