Former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello has stated that President Bola Tinubu does not need to campaign in the state for the 2027 elections, insisting that there is no opposition to him in Kogi.
Bello made the remarks on Saturday during a rally endorsing both President Tinubu and Governor Usman Ododo for a second term. He expressed confidence in his own reelection and praised the president’s contributions to the state.
“President Tinubu, you don’t need to come to Kogi State to campaign in 2027. There is no opposition here. Those making noise elsewhere have not seen the lion; when the lion roars, they will flee,” Bello said.
He further described Tinubu as a leader whom people naturally rally behind, saying, “Even after you leave office, we will continue to support you.”
Bello also commended Governor Ododo’s performance, adding, “We pray for you, Mr. President, and my governor, Ododo. We wish you long life, good health, and prosperity. We thank the president for his achievements in Kogi, including infrastructure, appointments, tackling insecurity, and financial support. Governor Ododo is doing excellently, and under the APC, we are confident we will reach the promised land.”
