Sean “Diddy” Combs has received an official release date from federal prison, more than three months after a jury returned a mixed verdict in his high-profile trial.
According to public records from the Federal Bureau of Prisons, the music mogul is scheduled for release on May 8, 2028.
Combs, 55, was sentenced to 50 months — just over four years — following his conviction on two counts of transporting individuals to engage in prostitution. He was, however, acquitted of the more severe charges of sex trafficking and racketeering, which could have carried a life sentence if found guilty.
The May 2028 release date takes into account time already served, as Combs has been in custody at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn since his arrest in September 2024 — roughly one year ago.
His legal team has filed an appeal against both his conviction and sentence.
Combs’ attorneys also confirmed to CNN that they have reached out to President Donald Trump’s administration to explore the possibility of a presidential pardon.
