The Deputy Speaker of the Kebbi State House of Assembly, Samaila Bagudu, has been abducted by unknown gunmen in his hometown in Bagudu Local Government Area.
Sources reported that the attackers entered the town late Friday, firing shots to create panic. Bagudu was reportedly taken shortly after completing prayers at the mosque and while returning home.
Ahmed Idris, Chief Press Secretary to the Kebbi State Government, confirmed the incident, stating that security agencies have been notified and are working to ensure the lawmaker’s safe release.
Efforts to get further details from the Kebbi State Police Command were unsuccessful as of the time of reporting.
