Arsenal’s teenage prodigy Max Dowman made history on Tuesday night, becoming the youngest player ever to feature in the UEFA Champions League.
The 15-year-old midfielder came off the bench in the 73rd minute during Arsenal’s 3–0 victory over Slavia Prague, setting a new record at just 15 years and 309 days old.
Dowman surpassed the previous record held by German striker Youssoufa Moukoko, who debuted for Borussia Dortmund in 2020 at 16 years and 18 days. Moukoko now plays for FC Copenhagen, who were due to face Tottenham Hotspur later that evening.
The milestone continues a remarkable rise for Dowman, who only last week became Arsenal’s youngest-ever starter in their 2–0 League Cup win over Brighton — a sign of Mikel Arteta’s growing trust in the club’s next big talent.
