Tika the Iggy, the beloved Italian greyhound known for her chic style and huge online presence, has died at the age of 14.
Her owner, Thomas Shapiro, shared the heartbreaking news on social media Tuesday. Tika had been diagnosed with two liver tumors and underwent surgery to remove them under veterinary guidance. At first, the operation went smoothly, and Tika returned home without complications. She even enjoyed her favorite meal, chicken, that first night, and all seemed well.
But the following day, Tika appeared unusually fatigued and not her usual self. Although vets initially thought it was a reaction to pain medication, it soon became clear that her body was failing. She spent her final moments peacefully at home, surrounded by her family.
Tika had amassed over 1.6 million Instagram followers, becoming famous for her fashionable outfits and earning nicknames like “a new fashion it girl” and “the Anna Wintour of dogs.” Her fans around the world mourn her loss.
