Reality TV star and businessman Leo DaSilva has fired back at a social media user who attempted to undermine the accomplishments of his fiancée, Maryam Laushi, by suggesting she is only “relevant” because of him.

The exchange erupted on X after a user, Neyenwa, threw jabs at Maryam’s achievements. Maryam responded confidently, dismissing the attempt to downgrade her success. She wrote, “I will sell kunu if it’s profitable, my money is long, don’t worry yourself. My husband is at least notable, where is your relevant husband? Let’s leave my father’s properties before you curse yourself. Like I said, childish secondary school nonsense on display. Goodnight.”

The troll escalated the attack, insisting her accomplishments were tied solely to Leo’s influence and that she only had a voice because of him.

Leo quickly intervened, delivering a sharp and emphatic rebuttal. He stressed that Maryam’s success stands on its own and long before their relationship. “You’re actually dangerously insane trying to belittle my wife. She has 2 masters degree! She will be employed till she chooses not to be! She always had her own voice even before she got married to me! She was already working when I met her. She is more than enough for me.”

He went on to highlight her extensive achievements across multiple sectors. “My Google results are not as impressive as my wife’s own. She has put in a lot of work in the civil space, corporate space and family space. Na all rounder. I am always proud of her and her work. We are grateful to God for his blessings. If you are jealous, Ogun go k!ll you.”

The exchange has since stirred conversations online about respect, independence, and the importance of recognizing women’s accomplishments on their own merit.
