The FCT Police Command has denied reports that Lieutenant AM Yarima was trailed by unidentified individuals in two unmarked Hilux vans in Kubwa on Sunday evening. Social media claims suggested that Yarima had to perform evasive maneuvers to escape the alleged pursuers.

Military sources had claimed that Yarima was followed from the NIPCO Station along the Kubwa Motorway to Gado Nasco Road, with an investigation reportedly underway.

Responding to the circulation of these reports, FCT Police spokesperson SP Josephine Adeh said: “The attention of the FCT Police Command has been drawn to publications alleging an attempted assassination on Lt Ahmed Yerima.

“The Command categorically states that no such incident has been reported or recorded anywhere within the Federal Capital Territory.

“The public is advised to disregard this false information and avoid spreading unverified claims that could cause unnecessary panic.

“The Command also urges residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the nearest Police Division for their safety.”
