Eberechi Eze delivered a sensational performance in his first North London Derby, scoring a hat-trick as Arsenal demolished Tottenham Hotspur 4-1 at the Emirates Stadium, extending their Premier League lead to six points.
Fourteen years after being released by Arsenal as a youngster, Eze starred in a memorable afternoon, leaving fans and opponents alike in awe.
Tottenham manager Thomas Frank started with a back five, hoping to frustrate Arsenal with a defensive setup. While the tactic initially slowed the hosts, Arsenal broke through before halftime. Leandro Trossard opened the scoring in the 36th minute with a perfectly weighted finish, followed by Eze’s first goal just five minutes later.
The second half began in spectacular fashion for Eze, who netted again within the first minute with a precise left-footed strike to make it 3-0. Tottenham’s Richarlison pulled one back with a stunning long-range effort, but Eze was unstoppable. He completed his hat-trick in the 76th minute, leaving defenders stranded and sealing a historic victory.
At 27, Eze became the first player to score a North London Derby hat-trick since Alan Sunderland in 1978, proving he can shine on the biggest stage and making a remarkable statement in one of English football’s most intense rivalries.
