The 23-year-old singer has been living in the city for less than two months, citing its energetic vibe and thriving African community as major draws.

In an interview, Ayra Starr shared that New York’s pace and cultural rhythm closely resemble her hometown of Lagos, making the adjustment easier.

“New York reminds me so much of Lagos. So it feels like home. There are a lot of Nigerians here. There's a huge African diaspora here, so it feels like home,” she said, emphasizing the sense of familiarity and comfort she has found in the city.
