Nigerian music superstar Wizkid has been crowned the most streamed artist in Nigeria on Spotify for 2025, solidifying his position as a leading voice in Afrobeats.
Spotify’s data for the first quarter of 2025 shows Wizkid amassed 218 million streams, outpacing fellow Nigerian artists Asake and Seyi Vibez, who ranked second and third.
The achievement adds to his growing global accomplishments. Wizkid recently became the first African artist to surpass nine billion total streams on Spotify, with his hit collaboration with Drake and Kyla, “One Dance,” being among his most streamed tracks.
His latest album, Morayo, also made history by achieving 12.12 million streams within 24 hours of release, setting a new record for the highest first-day streams by a Nigerian artist on Spotify.
Wizkid’s 2025 streaming performance highlights his enduring popularity in Nigeria and his expanding influence on the international music scene, cementing his status as one of Afrobeats’ most prominent artists.
