Wolves have secured the signing of Nigeria international Tolu Arokodare from Genk, agreeing to a four-year deal with an option for a further year.
The 24-year-old striker joins Molineux after winning the Belgian Pro League Golden Boot last season, having scored 21 league goals and 23 in all competitions.
Standing at 6ft 6in, Arokodare began his football journey in Nigeria before moving to Europe in 2019 with Latvian side Valmiera, where he made an immediate impact with 22 goals in 34 appearances at just 18 years old.
He gained further experience on loan in the Bundesliga with FC Koln and in Ligue 2 with Amiens, scoring 21 goals over two seasons in France.
Arokodare’s move to Genk in January 2023 saw him come close to a Belgian league title, only for the club to fall short on the final day. In his first full season, he made 52 appearances, including seven in European competitions, and scored 15 goals. Last season proved his breakthrough, as he scored 23 times and provided seven assists, claiming the Golden Boot thanks to away goals after finishing joint-top in the league with 21 goals.
Internationally, Arokodare helped Nigeria qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations during his first two appearances in March and scored his first goal against Russia in June. He now has four caps for the Super Eagles.
Having started the current season with five appearances for Genk, including a goal against Standard Liege, Arokodare now embarks on his Premier League journey with Wolves.
