Rwanda say it has received the first group of deported individuals from united states on Thursday August 28 Rwanda government spokesman yolande makolo confirmed the arrival of the seven individuals, according to her four of the individuals has expressed an interest to stay and build their life in Rwanda while the other three want to return to there country
The government spokesman stated that Rwanda will provide adequate support and protection against the migrant. In early August Kigali announced that it would accept 250 migrants from the United States adding that they will be provided with training in health care and accommodation
Makolo told News agency that Rwanda will maintain the ability to approve each individual proposal for resettlement. Conditions set in the migrant deal with the united states government include no child sex offender will be allowed in the country and will only accept individual with no criminal record and whose prison terms are complete. The migrants deal which was signed in June 2025 and will be compensated in form of grant for accepting the deportee which is yet to be known
