Popular Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta is in mourning following the death of his son.
The 54-year-old actor shared the heartbreaking news on his Instagram page on Saturday, though he did not provide details about his son’s passing. Accompanying a photo of the boy, Chatta wrote, “Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un. Ya Allah, You are the Knower of all things. Rest on, Dear son, champ.”
Fans and colleagues quickly flooded the comments section with messages of condolence.
The tragedy comes days after veteran actress Peju Ogunmola lost her only son, Ayomikun, who was in his early 30s, in Ibadan earlier this week. The two losses have deeply affected the Nollywood community, with many expressing shock and sorrow over the double tragedies.
Chatta had previously shared in June the story of losing his first child, a daughter, years ago. He revealed that financial hardship and inadequate medical care contributed to her passing, recounting that he had to bury her in an old wooden Coca-Cola crate after being unable to afford a proper coffin.
