Follow these simple steps to correct errors on the JAMB portal.If you spot a mistake in your JAMB data, don’t panic. You can still correct it. Whether it’s your name, gender, photo, or you just want to change your course or school, JAMB allows candidates to fix these issues—though some can only be done once.

What You Can Correct on the JAMB Portal1. Name

Wrong spelling or swapped names? You can fix errors in your surname, first name or middle name. But be warned, this update is only allowed once.

2. Date of Birth

If your date of birth was entered wrongly, you get one chance to set it right.

3. Passport Photograph

Wrong photo? You can update your passport picture just once.

4. Gender

You can correct your gender, but JAMB may ask for documents to back it up. Again, it’s a one-time fix.

5. State and LGA

If your state or local government area was wrongly filled, you can correct it. Some proof might be required.

6. Profile

You can make general changes to your profile, such as email or phone number, but only once.

7. Course or Institution

Here’s the flexible one. You can change your course or school more than once, but each time, you’ll need to pay again.

How Much Does It Cost?

Each correction (including name, DOB, gender, state, LGA, course, and school) costs ₦3,500. This fee includes the CBT centre service charge.

How To Make JAMB Corrections (2025)

1. Go to the JAMB eFacility portal
2. Log in with your email and password
3. Click “Registration (2025 only)” from the menu
4. Choose “2025 UTME Data Correction”or “2025 DE Data Correction” (for Direct Entry)
5. Make the payment online
6. After payment, visit the nearest JAMB office or an accredited CBT centre to complete the process

For 2024 or Earlier Registrations

If you registered before 2025, the process is slightly different.

1. Log in at the JAMB eFacility portal
2. Select “Application for Correction of Data (2024 Downward)”
3. Choose what you want to change (course, school, name, DOB, etc.)
4. You may still need to visit a JAMB office for final steps
