Saudi Arabia has named Sheikh Dr. Saleh bin Humaid as the country’s new Grand Mufti and Chairman of the Senior Council of Scholars.
The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques approved his appointment after the passing of Sheikh Abdulaziz, who died on Tuesday at 82.
Sheikh bin Humaid, currently one of the nine Imams of the Grand Mosque in Mecca, will now take on the Kingdom’s highest religious position.
