The Federal Government, led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has announced the official theme for Nigeria’s 2025 Independence Anniversary.
The celebration will be held under the theme, “Nigeria @ 65: All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation,” revealed on Wednesday by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
The statement emphasized that the theme calls for unity, collaboration, and patriotism among the public and private sectors, civil society, and all citizens, aimed at building a nation anchored in sustainable peace, prosperity, and progress.
“Since gaining independence on October 1, 1960, Nigeria has overcome numerous challenges and achieved remarkable milestones across various economic sectors. Sustaining and building on these gains requires a collective effort to reach greater heights and strengthen the nation for all,” the statement read.
It further noted that all government activities and programmes marking the anniversary will align with the theme, reinforcing the “Renewed Hope Agenda.”
Key events for the celebration include a Juma’at Prayer on Friday, September 26, at 1 p.m., an Inter-Denominational Church Service on Sunday, September 28, at 10 a.m., and a World Press Conference on Monday, September 29, at 10 a.m.
