Nigerians could see a spike in fuel prices as Dangote Petroleum Refinery announces it will suspend petrol sales in naira.
The notice, shared with journalists on Saturday by the Group Commercial Operations of Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals, states that the suspension will begin Sunday, September 28, 2025, citing the depletion of its crude-for-naira allocation.
The statement read, “Dangote Petroleum Refinery & Petrochemicals has been selling petroleum products beyond our Naira-Crude allocations and, as a result, we are unable to continue PMS sales in Naira.
“This suspension of Naira sales for PMS will be effective from Sunday, 28th of September, 2025. Updates on the resumption of supply will be provided once the situation is resolved.
“Customers with PMS transactions in Naira who wish to request a refund should formally submit their request for processing.”
