West Ham United has confirmed Nuno Espírito Santo as the club’s new men’s head coach on a three-year deal.

The 51-year-old will take charge of his first game on Monday evening when the Hammers face Everton in the Premier League.

Nuno joins after an impressive spell at Nottingham Forest, where he guided the club to a seventh-place Premier League finish and secured European qualification, along with reaching the FA Cup semi-finals last season.

A former league and cup winner with FC Porto as a player, and with Wolves and Saudi side Al-Ittihad as a coach, Nuno is widely regarded as one of the most respected managers in the game.

He officially began work at Rush Green on Saturday, leading his first training session ahead of Monday’s trip. For now, he will be supported by Academy coaches Mark Robson, Steve Potts, Gerard Prenderville, and Billy Lepine, with more details on his backroom staff to follow.

“I am very pleased to be here and very proud to be representing West Ham United,” Nuno said. “My objective is to work hard to get the very best from the team and ensure that we are as competitive as we possibly can be. The work has already started and I am looking forward to the challenge that is ahead.”

West Ham says it is excited to begin this new chapter under Nuno and wishes him success in Claret and Blue.
