A Catholic priest, Fr. Kelvin Ugwu, has sparked widespread debate after claiming that the marriage between billionaire politician Ned Nwoko and Nollywood actress Regina Daniels was never rooted in love, but rather in mutual self-interest.
Speaking on the ongoing marital issues between the couple, Fr. Ugwu alleged that Nwoko married Regina seeking a young virgin, while Regina was attracted to his wealth and political clout.
The priest described the union as a “transactional contract,” suggesting that both parties got exactly what they wanted and therefore have no moral grounds to complain about the turbulence in their marriage.
“Ned was obsessed with virginity; Regina was obsessed with wealth. They both got what they wanted,” Fr. Ugwu said.
“This is not a sacred marriage—it is a contract born out of greed. So whatever is happening now is a consequence of their choices.”
