Aisha Wahab, the young woman abducted in Edo State last week, has been released after her family paid a ₦20 million ransom, activists Harrison Gwamnishu and Davido’s logistics manager Israel DMW confirmed.
Wahab was kidnapped while on her way to Igbira Camp in Auchi by suspected armed assailants. Earlier this week, her captors circulated a video showing her begging for her life, demanding ₦20 million and warning they would kill her if the ransom was not paid by 5 p.m. Tuesday.
On Saturday, social media posts confirmed her release. “Aishatu has just been released by her captors after paying the complete ₦20 million. No kobo was deducted,” one message read. Family sources said the full payment was made prior to her release. There are no reports of arrests related to the case.
