Sean “Diddy” Combs has officially begun serving his prison sentence after being transferred to the Federal Correctional Institution in Fort Dix on Thursday morning, Fox News Digital confirmed.

The 55-year-old music mogul was handed a sentence of more than four years in October following his July conviction on two counts of transporting individuals for prostitution. His release date has been set for May 8, 2028, according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

Along with the 50-month term, Diddy will serve five years of supervised release and pay a $500,000 fine. Prosecutors had initially pushed for a much longer sentence of 135 months—just over 11 years.

Since his arrest on September 16, 2024, Combs had been detained at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center. His attorney, Teny Geragos, previously requested that Judge Arun Subramanian recommend Fort Dix as the facility for his client, citing its drug rehabilitation program and proximity to family.

Geragos’ letter, obtained by Fox News Digital, stated that the facility would allow Combs to “address drug abuse issues” while maintaining regular contact with his loved ones.

A jury found Combs guilty of two counts of transporting individuals for prostitution on July 2 but cleared him of more serious racketeering and sex trafficking charges. Prosecutors, however, insisted he should face a “substantial” sentence, calling him “unrepentant” in their filing earlier this month.
