Singer Waje has revealed that she was the voice behind P-Square’s 2007 hit song ‘Do Me’, yet she received no payment for her work.

Speaking on the HonestBunch Podcast with Daddy Freeze, the 45-year-old said, “I didn’t earn a dime from P-Square’s ‘Do Me’.”

Waje, born Aituaje Iruobe, sang the song’s iconic chorus but was never officially credited. She recalled the skepticism she faced when claiming her part in public: “Imagine being in Onitsha market and telling people that’s my voice every time ‘Do Me’ is played, and they look at you like who are you. They didn’t believe me.”

The singer, who gained nationwide attention in the mid-2000s, explained she missed the video shoot because she didn’t have a passport at the time.

‘Do Me’ was a major track from P-Square’s third studio album, Game Over. The twin brothers, Peter and Paul Okoye, dominated the African music scene in the 2000s with several chart-topping hits before their 2016 split over personal and managerial disagreements.
