Sammy West, brother of actress Regina Daniels, has been remanded in Keffi Prison following his first court appearance since his arrest. His elder brother, Lawrence Daniels, revealed the update on social media, expressing frustration over how the case has been handled.
“Dutse Magistrate has suddenly disappeared. Ned, you can pay everybody, but you can’t pay for integrity! Sammy is currently in prison. Everyone, please help me ask Ned what Sammy’s offense is. Sammy said his lawyers are on their way, but he was not allowed to contact anyone. The judge ordered he be remanded until bail could be filed, but the magistrate disappeared, and no one was available to sign. You still want him to test the prison? Ned, the most powerful man in the universe, you still can’t outdo integrity,” Lawrence wrote.
Sammy was reportedly taken from Lagos to Abuja on November 3, 2025. His family claims they have been denied access to him and remain in the dark about the exact charges against him.
The situation has attracted public attention, with actress Mercy Johnson criticizing the handling of the arrest. She wrote: “The worst form of injustice is pretended justice. A child was arrested, no one could see him for two days, he was flown from Lagos to Abuja, and allegedly taken to court directly from the airport.”
As of now, the specific offense for which Sammy is being held has not been made public.
