Kylian Mbappé, Ousmane Dembélé, Mohamed Salah, and other global football stars have been shortlisted for the 2025 FIFA Best Player Awards, marking the 10th edition of the prestigious event.
FIFA announced the nominees on Wednesday, inviting fans, journalists, national team coaches, and captains from 211 member associations to cast their votes before the November 28 deadline.
Real Madrid striker Kylian Mbappé and Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembélé headline the men’s category, alongside Harry Kane, Pedri, Mohamed Salah, and rising sensation Lamine Yamal.
For the women’s category, Spain’s Aitana Bonmatí, England’s Lauren James, and Nigeria’s own Chiamaka Nnadozie—nominated for Best Goalkeeper—lead the charge among global talents.
FIFA said the 2025 awards will celebrate individuals who elevated the game over the past year, highlighting the success of the expanded FIFA Club World Cup, which drew 2.5 million fans in the U.S.
Voting for all categories, including Best Player, Best Coach, and Best Goalkeeper for both men and women, will be open until November 28, with results to be announced at a gala ceremony later this year.
The final winners will be decided through a weighted system giving equal importance—25% each—to fans, journalists, coaches, and team captains.
