The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has slashed the 2026 Hajj fares for pilgrims across the country, offering significant savings compared to last year.

Pilgrims from Borno and Adamawa zones will now pay ₦7,579,020.96, down from ₦8,327,125.59 in 2025, a drop of ₦748,104.63. Those from the Northern Zone will pay ₦7,696,769.76, marking a decrease of ₦760,915.83 from the previous fare of ₦8,457,685.59. The Southern Zone fare has been reduced to ₦7,991,141.76 from ₦8,784,085.59, a difference of ₦792,943.83.

In a statement shared on X, NAHCON said the reductions aim to make the pilgrimage more affordable for Nigerian Muslims ahead of the 2026 Hajj. The commission also announced that December 5, 2025, is the new deadline for all intending pilgrims to complete their payments.

NAHCON urged pilgrims to pay by the deadline to ensure smooth processing and participation, and directed the public to its official website, www.nahcon.gov.ng, for further information.

The fare cut follows directives from President Bola Tinubu, delivered through his Deputy Chief of Staff, Sen. Ibrahim Hadeija, instructing NAHCON to lower the 2026 Hajj costs. The agency had initially released the approved fares in September 2025.
