Authorities have made public the identities of 24 students abducted from Government Girls’ Comprehensive Secondary School in Maga, Danko/Wasagu LGA of Kebbi State, following the 16 November 2025 attack that triggered a nationwide outcry and a major rescue effort.
The disclosure comes as security agencies widen their search across surrounding forests, with tactical police and military units actively tracking the kidnappers. One student managed to escape during the raid, and two others have since found their way back home, raising hopes that more girls may return safely.

Security officials report that surveillance, intelligence gathering, and community-based patrols have been intensified to narrow down the kidnappers’ movements and secure the safe return of every missing child.
The attack also resulted in the death of Vice Principal Hassan Makuku, a loss that has deepened the pain within the affected community and highlighted the escalating risks faced by schools in the region.
The Federal Government has since classified the abduction as a national emergency. President Bola Tinubu has directed all security and intelligence bodies to commit full resources to the mission, stressing that the recovery of the girls remains an urgent priority.
