Paystack has dismissed its Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, Ezra Olubi, amid allegations that he had sexual relations with a junior employee.

Olubi announced his termination on Saturday, saying it came before the company completed its investigation into the sexual harassment claims against him.

The issue first surfaced in mid-November after a social media post accused Olubi of abusive behavior, prompting users to dig up a series of explicit tweets from his past.

Following the allegations, Paystack suspended Olubi and launched a formal investigation, stating that it had set up a review process and planned to appoint an independent investigator.

In his statement, Olubi said he was not given a chance to respond to the allegations before his contract was terminated, suggesting that the decision may have violated the terms of his suspension and the company’s internal policies.

“My legal team is now reviewing the process that led to my purported termination, including its consistency with internal policies. They will take the steps they consider appropriate, and I will not be commenting further on this matter at this time,” Olubi said.
