Nollywood actor Taiye Arimoro has been suspended by the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Directors Guild of Nigeria (DGN), and Association of Movie Producers (AMP) after a violent incident on a movie set.
Arimoro reportedly assaulted both the production manager and the driver during the shoot and circulated a misleading video that falsely implicated producer Peggy Ovire.
As a result, the guilds have banned him from participating in any Nollywood projects until he meets certain conditions set by the industry bodies.
The decision is part of a broader effort to enforce accountability and uphold professionalism within the Nigerian film industry. While Arimoro faces suspension, Ovire has been advised to improve her management approach and apologize for her role in escalating the situation.
