Three members of a family were kidnapped by armed bandits on Sunday in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State while returning from a condolence visit.
Local sources, who requested anonymity, said the incident occurred around 7:00 a.m. as the victims were heading home after paying respects to a deceased relative.
The abducted individuals, all from Agboro community, were reportedly being taken toward Isanlu in Kogi State. They have been identified as Abiodun Abidemi and Abiodun Olumide, brothers of the deceased, and Ayomide Moses, the deceased’s son.
Residents of Patigi noted that the area has remained a hotspot for bandit attacks in recent months, with criminals continuing to operate despite security measures.
When contacted, Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Adekimi Ojo, said he was unaware of the kidnapping, stating: “I am not aware.”
