The Senate has approved 64 nominees for both career and non-career ambassadorial positions after reviewing a report from its Committee on Foreign Affairs.
Senator Sani Bello, the committee’s chairman, presented the findings, which were adopted by the lawmakers.
During deliberations, Senator Sahabi Yau raised concerns over the absence of any nominee from Zamfara State and urged the Senate to formally notify the President of the oversight.
The Senate President acknowledged the issue, explaining that the current list was not exhaustive. He assured senators that the President would be informed and that upcoming ambassadorial appointments would include representatives from Zamfara State.
