All the students abducted from St Mary’s Catholic School in Papiri, Niger State, have been safely released, with the final group of 130 children freed on Sunday. This brings the total number of rescued pupils to 230.

Officials from the Office of the National Security Adviser confirmed the development to ARISE News Channel, bringing relief to families who had endured days of fear and uncertainty.

The children were kidnapped after gunmen attacked the boarding school, an incident that sparked nationwide outrage and heightened concerns over school security.

Authorities credited the successful release to sustained pressure on the kidnappers and coordinated efforts by security agencies. They emphasized the need for stronger measures to protect schools and prevent similar attacks in the future.
